Palestine 101 | Socialist Night School

  • Cleveland Park Neighborhood Library 3310 Connecticut Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20008 United States (map)

The movement to liberate Palestine has been revitalized and expanded in the wake of the Hamas attack of October 7th and the Israeli response in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel itself. How did we get here? In this session, we’ll go over the basics of the history of Palestine, Zionism, the founding of Israel, and the movement to liberate Palestine, and the variety of strategies and tactics that has entailed, including but not limited to Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS.) Whether you are new to this issue and looking for an accessible entry into it, or a more experienced person looking for a stronger foundation, come learn with us.

This hybrid event is open to both DSA Members and supporters. The in-person event will be at Cleveland Park Neighborhood Library. Those who wish to attend virtually can RSVP and will be provided with a Zoom link on the next page, under "Instructions From Your Host."
