End Solitary Confinement in DC Jails: Rally and Advocacy Day

  • The John Wilson Building 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20004 United States (map)

Solitary confinement amounts to torture and is a violation of human rights. Solitary confinement inflicts immense physical social and emotional suffering and does not make for safer communities - yet, it is practiced extensively in DC jails. This year, we have a chance to end torture in DC jails by passing the ERASE Solitary Confinement Act of 2023, introduced by Councilmember Nadeau. Join Unlock the Box DC for a day of advocacy to push for the passage of the ERASE Act this Council period. We will rally at the Wilson building on Thursday, November 16th from 9:30 - 10:30 am and then head off to meet with our Councilmembers throughout the day until 2 pm.

We’ll have t-shirts and materials for you - sign up, and we’ll follow up with more information.
