Fighting for the right for women to vote in Washington, D.C. during the late 1910s

In September 1918, Elizabeth Kalb arrived in Washington, D.C. to fight for voting rights for women. In A Radical Suffragist in Washington, D.C.: The Inside Story of the Woman’s National Party (linked to catalog), local author and historian Shirley M. Marshall describes Elizabeth’s experience living and working at the National Woman’s Party headquarters and how the suffragists ensured politicians didn’t ignore women’s rights.
