Transgender Community Celebration of Life

  • Metropolitan Community Church DC 474 Ridge Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

Please join us for a Celebration of Life for 6 transgender women who have passed as a result of OVERDOSE.

The last 60 days are somber remembrance as we recognize several members of the Transgender Community. These lives have been taken aware through the DRUG OVERDOSE epidemic here in Washington, D.C. While drug overdoses are not classified as murder, we still within our community call them murder.

We speak out today and condemn these killings of members of the transgender community. There should be no rest in the LBGTQ community when these triages are still happening. Our prayers go out to the family of Terri Holland, Kenneth Isaac, Lourica Potts, Danielle Pinkney, Diva and several others not listed. Transgender individuals are experiencing violence locally and around the country almost every day. We must come together as one community to address this impact of substance abuse within the LBGTQ that are causing us to loss precious lives.
