#HandsOffDC Advocacy Day

  • Cannon House Office Building 27 Independence Ave SE Washington, DC 20003 (map)

In 2020, DC passed a police reform bill banning chokeholds, prohibiting MPD from hiring officers with a history of serious misconduct, and banning union measures that prevent MPD from firing officers who commit serious offenses like domestic violence, DUIs, and stalking.

Last week, Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia introduced a bill to undo DC’s police reform law. His actions will not keep us safer, and he is a danger to everyone in DC.

Rep. Clyde doesn’t represent us, and he needs to hear that we want him to keep his #HandsOffDC. If you are a DC resident who opposes this move, sign up to visit Rep. Clyde’s office on Tuesday, March 21, and let him know he doesn’t represent you. Sign up for a 30-minute block any time that day — and bring a friend, a neighbor, an ally, or anyone else ready to tell Rep. Clyde to keep his #HandsOffDC.
