Grassroots DC will provide you with the training and the technology to become a media producer. Grassroots DC students learn to produce short videos and radio segments that educate DC residents about issues relevant to low-income and working class residents. Students are encouraged to use the media to advocate for policies that prioritize human rights over property rights and make the city more welcoming and livable for those of us whose income falls below the median. First priority will be given to low- and moderate-income residents and/or those who advocate on their behalf. Much of our radio production and video production curriculum is available online.

We work with DMV community organizations to tell the stories of those most impacted by white supremacy, patriarchy and the harmful extremes of capitalism. Partner organizations go through Media Literacy training before we offer other services.

We are looking for self motivated storytellers who hope to develop their skills through practice and community collaboration. No experience is required to join our team! We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
