The Takoma Park City Council has approved a study of the City's rent stabilization law, potentially laying the groundwork to weaken the law. Takoma Park's rent stabilization law is stronger than the county's rent stabilization law, for example, Takoma Park's law only allows rent increases equivalent to the Consumer Price Index, a measure of inflation, while the county's law allows rent increases of 3% plus Consumer Price Index.
