Advocating for Co-ops Part 1:  The DC Budget Process

Have you ever wondered how the policies shaping DC’s budget affect your co-op, or how decisions at the city level can help keep your housing affordable and unlock funding to improve your building? Mi Casa, Inc. and the Fair Budget Coalition would like to invite you to next month's Co-op Academy training on April 2 at 6:30 PM. This session, the first in a new series, will walk through how these decisions are made and how you can play a role, with topics including:

  • How City Council passes DC's annual budget

  • How the budget impacts affordable housing and limited equity co-ops

  • How to get involved in DC's budget approval process and advocate for programs that help limited equity co-ops thrive
