Celebrate the love of reading with local Latino authors and the National Museum of the American Latino at the museum's first Día del Niño: A Celebration of Children’s Storytime and Literacy.

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Anna Lapera reads “Mani Semilla Finds Her Quetzal Voice”

Anna Lapera is an author who has lived all over the world and is proud of her Guatemalan and Hawaiian-Filipino-German heritage. She teaches by day and writes stories in the early hours of the morning before the teaching day begins. Her debut novel, “Mani Semilla Finds Her Quetzal Voice”, is a contemporary middle grade novel with a protagonist who’s full of determination and an activist heart.
