Queer Book Club: Disability Pride Month

  • MLK Central Library - 401-G Conference Room 901 G Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

Queer Book Club is a small but enthusiastic community that meets monthly to discuss queer-themed books spanning numerous genres.

This month we'll be meeting in room 401-G at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. To celebrate Disability Pride Month, well be reading Forever is Now by Mariama J. Lockington:

From critically acclaimed author Mariama J. Lockington comes Forever is Now, a powerful young adult novel-in-verse about mental health, love, family, Black joy, and finding your voice and power in an unforgiving world.

Sadie is an Oakland, California activist who shares her passion for social justice online. After witnessing a violent incident of police brutality, her chronic anxiety deepens into agoraphobia. How can Sadie show up for her community when she can't even leave her house?
