Trace the District's history of redlining, incarceration, and gentrification

Author and professor Tanya Golash-Boza will discuss her most recent publication Before Gentrification: The Creation of DC’s Racial Wealth Gap. Following a short reading, the author and Mt. Pleasant native Tyler Hoyle will engage in a discussion and Q&A on how a century of policies and policing have impacted Black communities and shaped our city. 

Attendees will receive a free copy of the book signed by the author (while supplies last).
