The Tower Road Bus Screening & Panel Discussion

  • MLK Central Library - Auditorium 901 G Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

Were there winners on the frontlines of integration? Set in Prince George’s Country during the 1970s, The Tower Road Bus revisits the unresolved stories of African-American students, teachers, and administrators thrust into integrating an all-white elementary school in Clinton, Maryland. The Tower Road Bus is directed by Michael Streissguth and features Dotson Burns, Jr. the first Black principal of majority-white school in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

A panel discussion about the film, racial equity and the impact of busing featuring Michael Streissguth, Dotson Burns, Jr. and former students and teachers of Crestview Elementary School will follow the screening.
