On February 28, 2023, Alaunte Scott was murdered on the 4300 block of 3rd St. SE by U.S. Marshals (USMS) assisted by D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Alaunte was shot seven times in the back.
The statements of MPD Chief Robert Contee and U.S. Marshals do not add up.
On Saturday, April 8, we are taking it to the streets with a special caravan action, calling for the immediate release of the video footage as well as the names of the U.S. Marshals that took young Alaunte's life.
WHAT: Justice for Alaunte Scott Caravan
WHEN: Saturday, April 8 at 1pm
WHERE: Giant Parking Lot located at 1535 Alabama Ave SE
Please remember to bring pre-made signs for your car! BLM DC will provide materials for attendees to make signs and posters!
Why a caravan protest? A caravan protest is an effective tool that allows us to take our message to more places. With a caravan, we can travel longer distances and get access to more difficult locations. In other words, we can reach more people with a caravan!
Not enough people know Alaunte's story – his family and community need as much support as possible.
We hope you can join us.
