Black August is a commemorative month that originated in the 1970s to honor and remember the struggles, sacrifices, and achievements of Black people throughout history. It is a time to reflect on the ongoing fight for justice, equality, and liberation. This event will both Honor Black Political Prisoners and Freedom Fighters while uplifting our Youth in the development of becoming future freedom fighters. We hope you will join us as we build community to celebrate our ongoing fight for liberation
We will be joined by our community partners and local organizations. There will be free food, GoGo, performances, music, etc. The goal is to create a safe and inclusive space that fosters dialogue, education, empowerment and Black Joy.
